Whole Rock, Mineral Chemistry during Skarn Mineralization-Case Study from Tongshan Cu-Mo Skarn Profile

چکیده

Studying the activation, migration and precipitation processes of ore-forming elements is essential for understanding genesis mechanisms skarn deposits. A typical profile formed by intrusion Yanshanian granodiorite into Carboniferous carbonate strata was studied. The highly consistent with classic profile, ranging from intrusion, weak alteration belt, belt (inner outer belt) mineralization (mainly characterized Cu mineralization) to surrounding marble without being affected late-stage low-temperature or supergene weathering alteration. Whole-rock data show that major trace exhibit relatively small changes in inner skarn, but huge variation boundary between skarn; Na, Al, Ti Sr significant decreases, while Fe, Mg, Zn, V Ni increases. elemental content 10–100 times more higher than marble, such as Ca, Cs diluted marble. During process some (such K, Rb Ba) were depleted inner, not enriched outer, indicating they may migrate farther locations. Grossularite developed light rare earth element (LREE) depletion heavy REE enrichment, well positive negative anomalies Eu (δEu = 0.42–3.95). Andradite zonation development, a anomaly 0.36–46.83). Some appear at edges garnets fluctuations fO2 during late process. correlation Fe3+ REE3+ Al3+ indicated there are different YAG substitution skarn. Low garnet contents variable Y/Ho ratios suggest REEs be primarily controlled water-rock interactions. Considering whole-rock contents, features garnet, we found elements, Ti, Zr Nb differences These characteristics can used distinguish rock body skarnification

Indium Mineralization in a Sn-Poor Skarn Deposit: A Case Study of the Qibaoshan Deposit, South China

Indium (In) is commonly hosted in Sn-rich deposits but rarely reported in Sn-poor deposits. However, an In-rich and Sn-poor skarn deposit, the Qibaoshan Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, has been identified in south China. Geochemical analyses were undertaken on 23 samples representing the following mineral assemblages: sphalerite-pyrite, pyrite-chalcopyrite, pyrite-sphalerite-galena-chalcopyrite, pyrite, magn...

Geology and geochemistry of skarn deposits in the northern part of Ahar batholith, East Azarbaijan, NW Iran

Principal Skarn deposits along the northern margin of the Ahar batholith from west to east include Mazraeh, Vine and Gowdoul skarn deposits. Among these skarn deposits, the Mazraeh Cu-Fe Skarn deposit is the most typical skarn deposit in the NW Iran. This skarn deposit is located 5 km. north of Mazraeh village and 20 km north of Ahar town. The origin and development of the skarn can be related ...

A Low F Pegmatite-Related Mo Skarn from the Southwestern Grenville Province, Ontario, Canada: Phase Equilibria and Petrogenetic Implications

The Hunt Mo skarn deposit is one of the best examples of a late tectonic, granitic pegmatite-related, skarn system in the Grenville province. An Re-Os age of 1069 ± 11 Ma was obtained from a molybdenite crystal (6.4 ppm Re) hosted in proximal skarn (sample 50O) consistent with a contact metasomatic origin related to the granitic body. Although less evolved than other Grenvillian pegmatites, the...

Using stream sediment data to determine geochemical anomalies by statistical analysis and fractal modeling in Tafrash Region, Central Iran

Iranian Cenozoic magmatic belt, known as Urumieh-Dokhtar, is recognized as an important polymetallic mineralization which hosts porphyry, epithermal, and polymetallic skarn deposits. In this regard, multivariate analyses are generally used to extract significant anomalous geochemical signature of the mineral deposits. In this study, stepwise factor analysis, cluster analysis, and concentration–...

Activity variations attending tungsten skarn formation, Pine Creek, California

An integrated geochemical analysis of the wellexposed Pine Creek, California tungsten skarn deposit has been undertaken to evaluate changes in chemical gradients across various lithologies. Thermodynamic calculations using available experimental and thermodynamic data allow limits to be assigned to the activities of important chemical components in the metasomatic environment. Quantifiable chan...
